Specifications
FDA-approved for use in humans but not in animals, dorzolamide is prescribed by veterinarians to manage glaucoma in a pet’s eye, and to prevent glaucoma from developing in the animal’s other eye. It decreases fluid production by inhibiting a substance called carbonic anhydrase. Talk to your veterinarian about whether dorzolamide is an appropriate treatment for your pet. It should start taking effect within one to two hours, but you won’t be able to see any outward changes. Your veterinarian will need to run follow-up tests to see whether this prescription product is working appropriately for in your pet.
